Hi there!

I'm Rebecca Hales

I am a food photographer based in Avon Connecticut. After living in Brooklyn New York for 9 years we left the city life and are settling into a much slower pace. I'm discovering all this state has to offer with its many farms and local ingredients.

I have always loved food and photography. I grew up on 12 acres of land in rural Pennsylvania, our family grew all of our own produce, raised chickens, and foraged for food. Our family life was centered around what was for dinner and I began helping in the kitchen at a young age.

Now that I have my own family, my husband and I are teaching our boys to get excited about dim sum in Chinatown, the best pizza we can find (or make at home) and great sushi. When we are not cooking our CSA vegetables or eating out you can find us enjoying the beach, bike riding or snow tubing when the New England winters never end.

Food Accomplishments I'm most proud of:

01

02

replicating soy eggs

perfecting latte art

Who doesn't love and appreciate a good latte AND the gorgeous art on top. Two years ago my husband and I purchased a Breville Espresso Machine and it is by far my favorite kitchen gadget.

When I found a recipe for soy eggs I was shocked at how easy and good they are to make at home!

03

Salted Caramel Ice Cream

04

best of all

winning the
"Brooklyn Ice Cream Takedown"

raising two young food critics who love eating vegetables and aren't afraid of a kale & beet salad!

You read that right! My signature salted caramel ice cream won a competition! One of my chef friends even tried to get me to make it for his restaurant.
